How your Pag-IBIG contribution works

Pag-IBIG (HDMF) is a percentage of your monthly compensation, but the base is capped at ₱10,000 (raised from ₱5,000 in February 2024). That cap is why it's the smallest of your three contributions:

Earn ₱1,500 or less

1% you + 2% employer

Earn above ₱1,500

2% you + 2% employer

Once your pay reaches ₱10,000, your share freezes at a flat ₱200 — no matter how much more you earn. You can always contribute more voluntarily (many do, to grow their MP2 savings).

Worked example: ₱15,000/month employee

At ₱15,000 you're above both the ₱1,500 threshold and the ₱10,000 cap — so the flat maximum applies.

Contribution base (capped)₱10,000
Your share — 2% of base₱200
Employer share — 2% of base₱200
Total to Pag-IBIG₱400
Your ₱200 builds up as savings you can withdraw at maturity (with dividends), and it unlocks access to Pag-IBIG housing and multi-purpose loans.

Pag-IBIG questions, answered plainly

"Why is my Pag-IBIG only ₱200 when I earn way more?"

Because the contribution base is capped at ₱10,000. Whether you earn ₱15,000 or ₱150,000, the mandatory employee share is the same ₱200.

"Is this the same as my Pag-IBIG housing loan?"

No. This is your contribution (savings). Your housing and multi-purpose loans are separate — but paying contributions consistently is what makes you eligible for them.

"Can I save more than ₱200?"

Yes. You can voluntarily raise your contribution, and the Pag-IBIG MP2 program is a popular tax-free savings scheme with higher dividends than a regular bank account.

This calculator covers Pag-IBIG contributions only — not housing or multi-purpose loans.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much is the monthly Pag-IBIG contribution in 2026?
For members earning above ₱1,500, the rate is 2% employee and 2% employer, computed on compensation capped at ₱10,000. That means a maximum of ₱200 from you and ₱200 from your employer.
How much should OFWs pay to Pag-IBIG?
OFW members shoulder both the employee and employer share themselves. Using the 2% + 2% rates on the ₱10,000 cap, that is ₱400 per month — though many OFWs choose to contribute more.
Can I contribute more than the minimum to Pag-IBIG?
Yes. You can voluntarily contribute above the mandatory amount, and the extra goes toward higher Pag-IBIG savings (and a bigger dividend). The MP2 savings program is a separate, higher-yield voluntary option.
What is the maximum Pag-IBIG contribution?
Because contributions are computed on compensation capped at ₱10,000, the mandatory maximum is ₱200 from the employee and ₱200 from the employer (₱400 total). Anyone earning ₱10,000 or more pays this flat amount.
