Overtime Pay Rate in the Philippines: How to Compute (DOLE 2026)

Quick answer: In the Philippines, overtime (work beyond 8 hours) on an ordinary day is paid at 125% of your hourly rate — your rate plus 25%. The premium rises to 169% on a rest day or special non-working day and 260% on a regular holiday. Work between 10 PM and 6 AM earns an extra 10% night differential. Compute your overtime pay →

Overtime pay rates table (DOLE 2026)

When you work overtimeOvertime hourly rate
Ordinary dayhourly rate × 1.25
Rest day or special non-working dayhourly rate × 1.69
Special day falling on a rest dayhourly rate × 1.95
Regular holidayhourly rate × 2.60
Regular holiday on a rest dayhourly rate × 3.38
Night shift (10 PM–6 AM)additional +10% on top

These multipliers come from the DOLE Handbook on Workers’ Statutory Monetary Benefits. They already combine the day’s premium with the 30% overtime premium (for example, a rest day is 130% for the first 8 hours, and 130% × 130% = 169% for each overtime hour).

The formula

Overtime pay = Hourly rate × Overtime multiplier × Overtime hours

Your hourly rate is your daily wage ÷ 8. If you are monthly-paid, divide your monthly basic salary by your working days per month, then by 8. Not sure of yours? The calculator derives it from your monthly salary.

Worked examples

Hourly rate ₱100, 2 hours OT:

₱100 × 1.25 × 2 = ₱250

Rest day

Hourly rate ₱100, 2 hours OT on a rest day:

₱100 × 1.69 × 2 = ₱338

Regular holiday

Hourly rate ₱100, 2 hours OT on a regular holiday:

₱100 × 2.60 × 2 = ₱520

With night differential

For overtime hours worked between 10 PM and 6 AM, add 10% of the overtime hourly rate. The calculator lets you enter how many of your overtime hours fall in the night window.

Maximum overtime hours

The Labor Code does not set a hard daily cap on overtime for most private-sector workers, but overtime generally must be voluntary and is always paid at the premium rates above. Night workers, minors and certain industries have specific limits — confirm with DOLE.
